If you’ve seen one health and wellness business opportunity inside MLM, have you seen them all? Is it still a good idea to lead with great nutritional products and not the business opportunity? Here are 5 mistakes you are probably making when you consider joining a health and wellness MLM.
Mistake #1 Believing That One Truly Great Nutritional Product Means A Really Great MLM Business Opportunity
It is absolutely true that in the professional marketing world, one great product can make you rich. But, what if you are not a marketing professional? What if the MLM company marketing materials are all you will have to promote the product? It will not matter how great the product is, or how great your testimonial becomes.
If you can not hire a professional marketing consultant and/or if you do not intend to study professional marketing yourself, the one and only magnificent nutritional product of a multi-level marketing company will not make you wealthy.
Healthier, yes. Wealthier, no. Why? Because unless you intend to market a product to the segment of society who needs it, you will not succeed. Niche marketing is a specialty. It isn’t that difficult to learn, thanks to the internet and so many people online who are willing to help you learn but if that’s not your business plan, don’t join a one product MLM.
Mistake #2 Believing That Everyone You Know Will Be Interested In Health and Wellness Products
Many MLM companies will market their business opportunity saying that your friends and family members already spend money on health and wellness products so switching to your products will be a natural supportive thing to do for you. Afterall, they are spending the money already, right? Right – but, our culture is really interestingly different in the USA than in other countries. Unless you live elsewhere, your family and friends for the most part will not want to buy from you.
The only exception to this rule in America is that after you are successful and making a ton of money in MLM, then and only then will most of your family and friends be interested in starting a home business like yours, joining your MLM. You will most definitely recruit many friends and family into the business but you will first have to recruit complete strangers. I know – it’s a little weird. But that’s how America is about network marketing. America for the most part, is quite leary of MLM. So, what should you do? You will have to go online.
Mistake #3 Believing That Internet Network Marketing Is Too Hard And Not Necessary In Order To Succeed
This is the toughest and yet most exciting revelation for you to understand. Internet network marketing used to be really hard and not all that necessary for networkers to even think about or try to learn. The exciting thing is, the good news is, internet network marketing is no longer difficult. The bad news? The bad news is, to succeed in network marketing in the USA without learning internet marketing is quite impossible for 97% of all network marketers.
That means, either learn internet marketing, outsource it or don’t even consider MLM. Even though the best MLM is a company that promotes health and wellness, as a home-based business it will fail in most cases. Add to that trying to not capitalize on the baby boomer market for health and wellness and trying some other MLM product to launch your MLM biz – forget about it!
Mistake #4 Believing That Health and Wellness MLM Companies Are All Alike And That Any Of Them Will Be A Good Choice
I don’t mean to insult you but really, there are people who are in the know about how powerful health and wellness MLM companies are becoming all across America and beyond. That’s all true. Health and wellness MLM companies are doing very, VERY well in America and in the global economy as well. But that does not mean that you will do well, just because the company does.
Yes, many of the health and wellness MLM companies would be a very good choice when you consider their products. But you have to consider a whole lot more than that – I know you know this but it is sooo easy to be swayed with a great presentation in a hotel meeting where the music is loud and exciting, the big screen is giving you terrific examples of the life styles of the rich and famous top earners in the company. Just be careful, do your homework after the big promo. Sleep on it.
Not all health and wellness MLM companies have a great compensation plan. But they almost all have great products and top earners with super life styles.
Mistake #5 Believing That You Don’t Need Any Help Other Than Your Upline
This is the biggest mistake of all. Most upline recruiters are very sincerely trying to help their downline succeed but things have changed. Once upon a time, doing every thing your upline told you to do worked. Now it doesn’t.
If your potential upline does not intend to teach internet network marketing, do not join that company or find someone in the company who will mentor you in such a way that you will learn to leverage the internet.
Internet MLM is a must, especially in the United States. Our culture in America is so biased against MLM that you must find people who already love the business model of multi-level marketing (MLM) There are tons of us!! But to find us, you have to go online and you have to know what you’re doing. Don’t make the mistake of believing that you don’t need any help other than an upline mentor who teaches network marketing apart from internet marketing because unless you are part of the 3% who are naturally good at sales… you will fail. It’s a really harsh fact but it is true.
Don’t become a casualty of the most effective business model out there in today’s economy – MLM! Don’t make these 5 mistakes. Find an internet network marketer mentor who understands two things:
Health and wellness MLM is the way to go
Leveraging the internet is the way to succeed
